Particle board, carbon fiber,
made of liquid fire and force.

Lavender and Vanilla,
perfume of the dirt,
are loved by Earth for a million years.
All our composites are inert.

Plastic, plywood, fiberglass,
Build our world upstanding.
More than their component parts,
but much less than their branding.

A million poems for the sea,
but none for polystyrene.
It’s our most eternal trash.
We’ll never have the time to clean.
